The 69th Slovak FIS Grand Prix in downhill skiing
will take place on March 18-19, 2024
at Strbské Pleso, High Tatras.
Slovakia has a long skiing tradition and
is one of the founding members of the International Ski Federation FIS
which in 2024 celebrates 100 years.
Grand Prix of Slovakia
is our oldest international race in downhill skiing.
It is closely associated with the High Tatras mountains and the promotion of skiing.
The Slovak Grand Prix after the first years, which were held as the most significant international downhill races in the former Czechoslovakia,
was organized 6 times as a World Cup and as a European Cup 8 times.
In 1974 we had the honor of hosting the men's and women's World Cup Finals.
Sixty-eight previous years of the Slovak Grand Prix
forms part of the history of Slovak skiing and
the history of the High Tatras mountains, which we are proud of.
Our partners, without whom the organization of GP would not be possible, contribute greatly to the success of this event.
We prepare with great care even this year's 69th Grand Prix of Slovakia,
which is included in the FIS Alpine calendar for men's and women's slalom and giant slalom races.
We believe that just like in previous years we will welcome young skiers
from all over Europe and we will prepare good conditions for competing and
a pleasant stay in the High Tatras for them.
